YAYASAN INISIATIF LAUT JIWA
Coming soon in 2026. This Indonesian non-profit organisation will be at the heart of Soul Initiatives. It will be majority locally led and responsible for implementing many Soul Initiatives activities. Being locally-led is essential for development and conservation projects to be ethical, accountable and sustainable. At the same time, this organisation has access to fundraising and technical support from Soul Sea Initiatives Ltd and access to logistical support from Soul Scuba Divers.
SOUL SEA INITIATIVES LTD
This Australia-registered non-profit organisation works behind the scenes to build global awareness of the need to protect Raja Ampat’s marine ecology and to raise funds from governments, organisations and individuals. Soul Sea Initiatives Ltd also provides technical support for specific projects and financial and organisational management support for its sibling Indonesian non-profit organisation Yayasan Inisiatif Laut Jiwa.
SOUL SCUBA DIVERS
This is where it started. Soul Scuba Divers was founded in 2018 and prioritises work with local communities and marine conservation activities. Within this new structure, Soul Scuba Divers provides invaluable support by gifting the use of its boats, jetty, buildings, solar and diesel generators, compressors, and so much more. Additionally, up to 20% of Soul Scuba profits also go to Yayasan Inisiatif Laut Jiwa and Soul Sea Initiatives Ltd, as part of our diversified funding strategy. Hundreds of divers also pass through Soul Scuba every month, many of whom learn about Soul Initiatives and donate their expertise, time, or money.

Youth Project Lead and English Teacher
I love working with young people in the village of Yenbuba, teaching English at Yenbuba Primary School in the mornings and coordinating our Youth Club in the afternoons. I love creating a comfortable and fun learning space for introducing environmental awareness, especially about the ocean. I also enjoy being part of the community and learning together to protect our futures.
